Hungary, your bridge to Europe
Hungarians regard May 1, 2004 - the day of accession to the European Union - the date when Hungary regained its proper place and role on the old continent. Indeed, since our ancestors settled here in the Carpathian Basin, we Hungarians have always played an integral role in Europe, and now as a member state of the European Union we are part of a 27-country community.

The opportunities offered are available not only to Hungarians, but also to every company of foreign ownership that is registered in Hungary. As a Hungarian firm, they have the same rights as companies under Hungarian ownership. This means that through a Hungarian company, a Chinese parent company can trade with the remaining 24 countries of the EU without paying customs duty. It is not surprising that companies aiming to serve a European market of almost half a billion people make use of these advantages. Hungary represents the gateway to Europe for several thousand investors from numerous countries of the world. These include several Chinese investors.
Hungary - building on its natural advantages - is strengthening these processes by developing the necessary physical and human infrastructure at an accelerated pace. Hungary's natural attributes are excellent from the outset: it is unique that four extremely important European rivers pass through the country, thanks to which it is possible to reach sea ports quickly and easily from the land-locked country: to Hamburg, Bremen, Rotterdam on the North Sea, to Koper on the Adriatic Sea favored by Asian countries and Constanza on the Black Sea. Transporters can reach these ports by road or rail in just 13 hours.
